Agreement

Welcome to SCADA Protocols (https://scadaprotocols.com). By accessing or using this site, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the site lawfully and responsibly. In particular, you may not:

  • Deface, disable, overburden, or attempt unauthorized access to the site, its servers, or infrastructure.
  • Use the decoder tools or any downloadable output to attack, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to real systems.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish large portions of the site content without explicit permission.
  • Post or transmit content that is abusive, infringing, deceptive, or violates applicable laws.

Educational purpose

Content on SCADA Protocols is provided for educational and reference purposes. Protocol references, frame formats, and decoder output describe the public specification of protocols; it is your responsibility to ensure any real-world implementation complies with vendor documentation, safety regulations, and network authorization policies.

Never use a protocol command, injected frame, or write operation on a live SCADA, substation, or industrial system unless you have proper authorization and follow your organization’s change-control and safety procedures.

No warranty

The site, its content, and all decoder tools are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind — express, implied, or statutory — including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SCADA Protocols and any affiliated entities shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, production, safety, data, or business, arising from or related to use of the site or its content, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Total aggregate liability under these terms is limited to the amount (if any) you paid for access to the site in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Copyright & reuse

Unless otherwise noted, original written content on SCADA Protocols is © 2026 SCADA Protocols. All rights reserved.

Short excerpts (a few paragraphs) may be quoted or translated online, provided you:

  • attribute the work to SCADA Protocols,
  • link back to the original article URL, and
  • do not imply endorsement without written consent.

Republishing whole articles or large-scale scraping requires written permission. Vendor product names, logos, and standard names (e.g. “Modbus”, “DNP3”, “IEC 61850”) are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners; their appearance on the site does not constitute endorsement or affiliation.

External links

The site may link to third-party resources (standards bodies, vendor documentation, open-source projects, etc.). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of external sites.

Changes to the terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator’s registered location, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will first be attempted through good-faith negotiation.

Questions, complaints, or licensing requests can be directed to the contact channels listed in the site footer.
